I couldn’t believe how incredible this picture was when I first saw it. To capture such a scene in the dead of night using only the light from the moon is a terrific feat, one that hasn’t gone unnoticed. Nenad Saljic had this picture used by National Geographic, and it’s already beginning to appear on popular media sites all over the internet. Congratulations Saljic!
The mountain in the picture is known as Matterhorn. At 4478 meters tall, it’s one of the tallest mountains in the Alps, and even though it’s the 6th most dangerous mountain in the world, it’s still one of the most popular climbs for mountaineering enthusiasts.
